I thought 0.9.8.8 had fixed my problems with GraphEdit crashing. I successfully muxed a small(100MB) Xvid with Ogg Vorbis the morning. However, the final video has some strange playback problems. I tried 4-5 diffrent players with this clip and it starts out with smooth playback. After seeking in the movie the audio drops out and the video continues to play fine. This problem is just the opposite as I had before where the video would freeze and the audio would continue using 0.9.8.7.
My main issue now is that GraphEdit is still crashing no matter what method or options I use to mux the video. I need to try a few small clips and see if "size really does MaTTeR":D
EDIT- Typo

Try not assigning languages descriptions to the streams. That way it worked for me! When I assign them, graphedit crashes near the end!

I should have added that 0.9.8.6 still works perfectly for muxing using 2 different versions of GraphEdit.
@kagoru
I have already tried both ways but thanks for the tip.
EDIT- Also, OggCut 1.0 is crashing while opening an OGM file up using the 0.9.8.8 dll.
AppName: oggcut.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.0 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.0 Offset: 000017e2

My suspicions were correct. When muxing smaller clips GE doesn't crash. A full size 700MB mux will crash immediately for me though.

For me, a 1400MB file, with 2 audio streams works perfectly, but when I add a subtitle stream, GE crashes at the end and the file wich he produced is very ugly, check this theard for futher infos: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=106231#post106231

Ok, I'm going to leave it at that then. Thanks to all for the feedback as I'm sure it's most helpful for Tobias.

@ schumi
I think you are using w2k/wxp, don't you ?
My experience on my w98se system is that GE does not crash at the end if I do not try to assign languages to streams in the multiplexer, according to kagoru.
Finally in this version I am able to SEE a stream list in the property page.
My test setup is the same since the last two versions: Xvid video, 2 ogg vorbis audio at same -q setting. Result should be a 1.4 gig movie.
But this time - weather I let GE crash or not for language assigning reasons - the movie just plays for 3 secs no matter which player. Then Video freezes, no sound at all. But only Sasami2k also played audio for three secs, which certainly is due to the enhanced filtering in Sasami2k.
Didn't test subtitle muxing again for it definitely doesn't make things better here.
Still hoping Tobias can fix it. Quite looking forward to it. Already never want to step back to AVI...

Hey, you've got a sixth sense ;) yes I use Win2k. I've tried to assign languages and not to assign, always with the same bad result :/ But when I deinstall the sub filter, everything goes fine in perfect quality

well, it must be the subtitle filter then, because even with ogg ds xxx8 I've got the same shit (just no GE crash)
