Hi folks!

So I hope that noone would blame me for my question, so that I found nothing using the search function.

I did use the actual version von DVD2SVCD and made a my first bin/cue images. I mounted the into DTs and PowerDVD 4.0XP said: unknown discformat WinDVD 3.1 dts plays them without any problem but shows VCD1.1 in the playerwindow. Shouldn't there be something like SVCD? The Files are MPEG2 and the PowerDVD and Mediaplayer play them without any prob.

So what's wrong?

I refered to the guid from Doom9: http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd.htm an aproofed every thing x-times.

Hi [dd] godfather,

Have a look in here:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20228

seems that there are some "Lite" versions of PowerDVD 4.0 XP out there that don't support SVCD playback.

With the format shown in WinDVD - that is normal even if you use PowerDVD 4.0 XP full it shows "VCD" for the format - doesn't matter. ;)

Greetings,
Gerti

Hmm, interesting. I check this!
And I have to check wether my other SVCD's are real ones, because PowerDVD plays them all, except the ones I build myself.

Thanks for your help!

Hi again,

then please make sure you burn the SVCDs the "foolproove way" (see the Sticky in the forum) if not already done. It seems your PowerDVD can play SVCDs or the other CD-Rs are only VCDs? - Hmm - thats weird.

Greetings,
Gerti

It does matter, if you have multiple audio tracks. If WinDVD thinks it's playing VCD 1.1 you can't select the second audio track. Also, chapters won't work (isn't chapters supported in VCD 1.1?).
