I'm having the following problem with a VCD I have been working on. The MPEG file I'm using plays fine in windows media player however when I burn to VCD and play it on my TV(if dvd player matters it's a Pioneer DV-333) the bright scenes become much brighter, blur together, and are completely unwatchable. The dark scenes are perfect however. In an attempt to fix this I encoded the mpeg again with an adjusted gamma filter. Things are still pretty bright but watchable, however now the darker portions of video can't be seen. Could anyone offer any suggestions because i've never had this happen before and can't seem to find anything written about it in all the guides hanging around.

-Thank you for your time.

Sorry to bump this topic, but I thought it would be best to not create a new thread rather than bumping the topic. I have this problem as well. All of my VCD's are too bright. What can I do to fix it?

Is your problem with creation or playback?
ie are these commercial VCD's or are you making them yourself?

If you are making them yourself, what software are you using?
More detail about the procedures you're using would be very helpful.

These are self-made VCD's. I use Nero for making VCD's. The computer quality is excellent, but its too bright on my player. I have played VCD's that other people have burned and they come out fine, they say they use Nero too.
