Hi guys, I was wondering if there are any guidelines on what percentage range is the best for the first pass file size, for doing 2-pass rips. Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean with that question. Can you put it in other words/more precise please?

Oh ok... Hmm, you know after we finish the first pass then use Gordian Knot to open the stats file, we will get a Video Size - First Pass Size %.
I remember from my days of using Nandub, that we should go for 65 - 75% for the First Pass Size, to get the best quality.
How about for XviD? What % is recommended?

Ah, i see.
Well, to be honest, I don't think you can give a real recommandation here, because some movies look bad whatever you compress them at...
From my experience starting with 45% of first pass size the movies look ok (sometimes even really good).
I even do 40% sometimes and the movie stays nice...
But if you really want extreme high quality you should head for >50%.
