.d2v projects load

Hi guys,
someone's gonna tell me that the question has already been asked, but after spending 30 minutes looking for an answer using the search tool, I am still at point 0.
I just wanna know why it is impossible for me to load the .d2v file I've just created in GKnot. It always says "File is not a valid DVD2AVI project (v1.76, YUV2)!"
Does it have sthing to do with the OS, the version of GKnot I am using (the latest one I guess since I downloaded it here today) or am I simply cursed ??

error should only apear if u did not change Video=>Color Space to YUV
(once i got the error even when i did the change, but saveing the project again everything was fine)

It always looks simple for you guys because you know very well how all these things work. I am a newbie here but I can tell it still does not work. What do you mean by saving the file again ??
Recreating the whole .d2v project and delete the previous one ??

Yup, (first delete, then create new) but u don't have to do the audio again,...

Also, dont close DVD2AVI straight away after its finished....leave it for a bit (couple of mins to be safe)...Sometimes it doesn't finish the file properly even after its said "finished".

It does not work guys, that is unbelievable !!!
It is apparently not the first time this problem is mentioned and this question is asked, so could you please tell me at least what this dialog box ("File is not a valid DVD2AVI project (v1.76, YUV 2)!") means.
May be I used the wrong parameters. Do I have to select Forced Film ??, given that the movie is NTSC, 29.970 fps and interlaced ?

Do you have multiple versions of DVD2AVI and mpeg2dec.dll installed?

If so you might want to do a search and destroy on the extra ones because it sounds like a version problem.

in my first attempt at ripping a NTSC (non-FILM) dvd, i too get exactly this same error with dvd2avi: it creates the d2v file alright, and i have all the options selected you and the guides mention, but nothing will persuade gknot to open this file. (i can't work out how to make TPMG open it either)

Using all the software from doom9's pack, v 1.76 of dvd2avi and v 0.23 of gknot... confused...

anyone suggest a simple workaround?
