AVI audio in mp3 format -> demuxed to *.mp3... Possible?

Hi all,

is it possible to demux the mp3 audio track from an avi to an actual mp3 file? atm i can demux the audio in vdub of course, but the result is a wav file not an mp3 file. I've tried a few programs that add/remove WAV RIFF headers to mp3 files, but they dont seem to want to open the wav :(.

Tried renaming to MP3 ? Or you have to get rid of the WAV header completely ?

ill give it a try and see what happens...

as for the question, I'm going to mux the mp3 with some and *.m1v video to give an *.mpg. Not sure if the header needs to be removed completely for this to work, if yes, then yes, i do need to :)
