Please read the Mandatory Read, DVD2SVCD FAQ and the Q + A. Once you have done so maybe you could supply us with the right info.

This "green image" video seems to be a basic error of more than one newbie. I experience the same problem - and unfortunately I do not have a solution yet.

After installing version 109B3 I started with one of our DVDs and the programs worked over night - resulting in a green video. I used TMPGEnc 2.53 as MPG2-Converter.

Before my second try I installed the corresponding .vfp-file, but TMPGEnc still displays a green video - then I stopped converting and searched through all infos in the forum again. No solution until now.

My current status:
The d2v-file can be opened by DVD2AVI but does _not_ preview anything by pressing F5. But the AVS file can be opened in media player and the correct video is visible.

Does anyone have an additional idea?

Maybe you are not using the dvd2avi version that comes with the dvd2svcd bundle?

I'm shure that there is only one DVD2AVI-Version on this computer and that one was "bundled" with DVD2SVCD.

Does anyone have another idea what I could have missed?

Hi there,

to me it seems as if the DVD wasn't authenticated properly. Try to rip it again after having it played with a software DVD player before skipping through the chapters and play then for a few seconds. hen start DVD2SVCD and rip it. Afte DVD2SVCD has ripped the files you can close the DVD software player.

Hope this helps,
Gerti

yeah just like gerti said i think it has not been unlocked properly. "You must always unlock the dvd before ripping or you'll have this problem"

I don't know if this will help, but maybe you should have a look at tmpg's environment settings and try to disable some file readers in the vfapi tab.

A small correction is necessary to my former statements:
The d2v-file _can_ be loaded (as project)! I "opened" it erraneously, which does not work (off course!). Sorry for my mistake. So ripping was done correctly.

The problem seems to be with TMPGEnc opening AviSynth's .avs-files.
I manually tried many TMPGEnc's Versions (2.53, 2.02, even 12h), but opening the .avs-file results in a pure green video. Opening DVD2AVI's .d2v-file does work correctly. But will not help me with DVD2SVCD, alas. As mentioned earlier Mediaplayer can open the .avs-file and display the video.

@The People's Elbow: I disabled all but the AVISynth script reader plugin. But this did not change anything.

I searched for help at www.videotools.net but could not find a solution for my problem.

Any more ideas?

If you have been using windows media player to open your files that's your problem. Use your dvd software.:D

Opening the files in WMP would not cause a green screen, it would cause a codec (or filetype unsupported) error.

Welcome to the forum, BTW, Alex... a bit of advice though, don't resurrect topics that have been dead for over a couple/few days unless it really makes sense to. In this case, it doesn't, especially because your response was not correct.
