Hi,
I tried VDub, Adobe Premiere, Ulead Media Editor and so on and all have problems with a MPEG2 file (slow as hell).
What I want to do is to CUT a file. Not only DVD-Ribs but also self recoreded Mpeg2 files.
All tools (Comercal) seem to have problems if its not in DV format.
Anny one a good suggestion ?

The problem i have - avi editing, easy. DivX editing, easy (sort of?? never tried hehe). DVD converting, easy.
Mpeg2 editing? Hmmmmmm.
Dont even know what proggy to use or where to start.
But maybe we are lucky eventually, i am patient. :)

If all you want to do it cut a file, the best solution IMHO is Tmpg Dvd Author by Pegasys. It gives precision cutting and the audio always remains in sync. You can even cut a piece out of the middle with no problem. This program is what I use to cut out commercials. I don't bother to do it prior to encoding anymore. You can download a fully functional trial from Pegasys web site. It accepts ac3, mp2 and pcm-lpcm audio. The audio/video does not have to be muxed to acchieve the correct result.

Another one thats real easy to use is Womble's MPEG-VCR (mpeg2vcr). (link (http://www.womble.com))
