DVDit......isn't

For some reason, whenever I load a TMPGenc movie into DVDit for authoring....it locks up my computer. I've tried two different clips, both of which lock my computer up to the point that I have to unplug it and restart.
I had THOUGHT that it was a DVDit problem, until I realized that I can play both of these encoded clips in Media Player, and a clip that I encoded last week in TMPGenc works still works fine when loaded into DVDit.
I have no idea what is going on, but is seems as though it has to be something that I'm doing differently in the TMPGenc process.

It seems to me (I'm not certain though) that the aforementioned problem MIGHT have occured at the same time I was suddenly experiencing 4-5 hour processing speeds. I *think* that the first two successful clips took 12 hours to encode...but I can't be sure.
I do remember that I was surprised to see the estimated time of 5 hours pop up on the screen.

I'm using the same "high-quality/slow" setting that I was before on the succesful clips.

I don't believe that I changed anything....although I'm not exactly certain whether I had de-multiplxed BEFORE encoding on the sucessful copies or not.

Maybe now I can get an answer.
