Hi there guys,

Anyone done this kind of thing? Without the need to create DVD compliant structure? Just plain SVCD compliant stuff burned on DVD-R.
If it's possible, will standalone players play it properly?

TIA

It is possible, you just need to fool your authoring program. I am not an expert in this, you can search the forum for more infos.

An alternative is when you encode to follow the CVD format, that is 352 X 576 (480) and it is full compatible with D2/DVD video resolution (legal also)
SVCD in a way is simply the western answer to China's Video Disk (CVD) and it is totaly compatibly with.

so, how would u join a 3 or 4 disc svcd movie into one DVD-R??
how would u lay out the structure? would u need to convert *.mpg to 1 GB VOB's and make an IFO??

this sounds promising
