Tobias, thanks for your continued effort on this project.

I've uninstalled the previous version(0.9.8.6) of OggDS. 0.9.8.7 is now installed and registered properly but I'm having serious problems muxing in GraphEdit now. GraphEdit now crashes immediately when I press the play button. I've tried several options within the multiplexer and splitter but nothing has helped. I have a simple Xvid file that is 651MB and trying to mux in an Ogg Vorbis 72MB file. This was never an issue before with 8.6 so I'm not sure where my problem lies.

The other problem I have is OggCut will crash with access violations using the seek bar or just simply hit the play button. However, the file(Vorbis) that I opened in OggCut is audio only. Does Ogg cut not support Vorbis audio files yet?

System-
Dual PIII 850's
768MB RAM
WinXP

I apologize if I've left out any other information you might need. Let me know if any other details are needed.

Many thx in advance

EDIT- I uninstalled 8.7 and went back to 8.6 and muxing works fine with the same setup I mention above.

In my system, winXP Pro, the multiplexing and the oggcut are working fine, though i didn't tried oggcut with audio ogg files.

Good job Tobias!

what about a feature in Oggcut like enter the size of the stream and then oggcut search what keyframe you have to cut????

This will save us a few trial and error test to reach the desired filesize when enconding for 2 CD.

Thanks, only a suggestion.

On my system (w98se)graph edit(build011008 from doom9's site) crashed at first try after a quarter of process on 1.4 gig file, 2ndly on only simply inserting multiplex filter with latest version (DSF 0.9.8.7)installed.

followed exactly doom9's guide (render each stream, delete unused filters, insert needed ones).
additionally it also crashes on trying to change language specs in mplx-flt-properties.
btw I don't simply understand the mask design here, because I'm unable to select steam input first to specify language for. So what should language selection be good for if not for different audio steams ??
didn't try chap inf, because no usage atm, but this time intelligable.
saw screen shot from prev version mplx filter prop page with buttons for stream selections. where has it gone?
configuration of ogg splitters worked so far (enable all streams, always seek to kf). Thats what I did precedently to inserting mplx fil on 2nd try - maybe that's why it crashed immediately.
Ogg split tool worked - heaven - on an ogm stream ( same Vid+aud !) I've ceated with prev version, which had its issues as well (I posted on it).
Am I cursed in this heavily tech believing world...???

I seen a thread a week or so back that mentioned some people having video freeze problems while the audio continued to play. Can anyone confirm that 0.9.8.7 fixed this?

Another problem I'm seeing right is if I open up an OGM movie in any player, the movie will not start playing until use the seek bar to advance. After that, sound plays as normal. It's becoming more frequent that the video is freezing while the audio continues to play as well.

On a positive note, CPU usage while playing an Xvid/Ogg combo is around 10% average. Amazing!:D

EDIT- typo

Ok i tried to multiplex 3 audio streams and a video stream and it didn't worked at first when i assigned the audio streams myself(GraphEdit crashed and the file played for 2 sec), but it worked fine when i assigned languages from the drop-down menu.
The oggcut worked fine with the 4 streams multiplexed :)
Also the different languages can change on the fly(in the previous version you had to press stop). And also vosub works fine now.

@MaTTeR, Which players have u used ? Maybe try GraphEdit to see how the file is rendered.
I can play the file fine with wmp6.4 and wmp8 but powerdivx 3.12 crashes.

EDIT: when i cut the file the segments don't start playing with wmp6 but they play fine with wmp8

@philippas
I've used PowerDivx 3.12 and version 4a12(not public). Also, tried BSplayer 0.84b481, ZP 2.5 and WiMP 6.4. All the players will display the video freeze issue after playing for xx minutes or so.

In regards to GraphEdit, I've tried at least 2 builds including Doom9's and the Xvid file without audio renders perfectly. I also have two different ways that I usually mux Ogg but neither way is working while having 0.9.8.7 insatlled. Both methods still work if I go back to 0.9.8.6.

Are you guys using the FourCC mappings? Maybe I need to set that? I doubt it will make a difference but I'll give it a shot.

I keep getting a Graphedit crash, too! The error is reproducable. I try to mux a divx5 file with 2 audio streams one of them is a 64ABR Mp3 and the other is a Ogg Stream. When graphedit almost is done with the muxing it crashes saying:

Die Anweisung in "0x0110086c" verweist auf Speicher in "0x00000

The File is not playable.
0.9.8.6 works fine for me.

I also get crashes under win2k.. Tried 2 machines. Works fine under win XP though, which doesn't really help me, as my main box is running win2k.

Well, I don't know about any of the other problems in this thread, but I know how to fix this one :)

To mix mp3 and vorbis audio in the same .ogm, you need to first mux the mp3 with your .avi-format video stream and then run the files through graphedit.

Instructions are in doom's .ogm guide.

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunatly it doesn't seem to work: I muxed the divx5 video with the mp3-stream and then rendered the resulting file with the .ogg audio. Graphedit doesn't give me an error message but close to the end it simply stops responding. So I close the program with CTRL-ALT-DEL. I can play the file but seeking is awfully slow and subtitles and changing streams don't work either!

Could divx5 be the problem?

Whats your OS again ? Win98 is still causing probs it seems ... sorry, too lazy to read your post again searching for your OS ;) ... lazy mods here :D ..

I've analyzed your contributions and the result is:

- There is a bug in the Multiplexer which may lead to a crash at the end (when the memory is relased) It's already fixed.
- There are problems with Win98 because there is no proper support for WideStrings. I replace all WideStrings by standard strings to remove this incompatibility.

I will publish a fixed version as soon as possible. Anyway I will anounce it here.

Best regards,
Tobias

(By the way 6-channel playback is coming very soon .... :) )

Again, Many thx for your efforts Tobias. The 6ch DSF will be more than welcome, I just hope more people than myself test it this time;)

I use WinXP Professional; my computer is a 800 Athlon w/ 400MB SDRAM and a Geforce 2 MX. Muxing with 0.9.8.6 works fine for me.

I have used OggCut in WinXP pro and it works fine. However when i try to play the cutted .ogm clips in Win98se computer they don't play. in BSplayer and WiMP.
I have only tryed 1 cut, and this might be just me AGAIN, but if u have a change or u have allready tried to play OggCutted clips in Win98 do they work for u?

@mustaneekeri

Try seeking forward a bit and then see if they will play.

using 0.9.8.6 no problem, only when playing multiple audio streams
now I installed 0.9.8.7 with DSsub also

Now I have the spiderman trailer, decompressed from the .mov to a 1.3Gb Avi uncompressed and a 48 Mb Wav uncompressed

then compress the wav -> ogg using oggmachine
then compress the wav -> mp3 using besweet
then compress raw-video to Xvid 2pass usin virtualdub with 40Mb size
then compress raw-video to divx 5 2pass using virtualdub at 1200

when I play the files, all play ok. Open Graphedit
Ctrl+R (select the xvid)
Ctrl+R (select the ogg)
Ctrl+F ???? don't work try try try until gpf
---------------
reopen graphedit
Ctrl+F (select directshow, ogg multiplexer) ok
Ctrl+F (select file writer "media.ogm") ok
Ctrl+R (select the xvid)
Ctrl+R (select the ogg)
play --- ok?
check the .ogm created, it play only 0.5sec
----------------
tried every conbination, only divx5 + mp3 works ok! but I didn't multiplexed in gradhedit, I used nandub
