I posted a thread about converting .mov files to avi or mpg. Thank you for the replies. I dl the quicktime codec for tmpgenc and put it into the tmpgenc dir. Everything seems to work ok until the encoding starts. It stops and freezes every time after around 17 seconds. Not sure why. I found a program called RAD video tools which converts the .mov files to avi perfectly. The problem I am having is that it asks me which codec I want to use and most of them have the ability to use compression from 1 to 100. I dont know which codec is going to give me the best picture for a vcd, and I dont know which compression to use. The following are a list of the codecs it says I can use. Can someone please tell me which will give me the best quality picture for a vcd, or do I need to get a different codec? Thank you.
