Hi All,

I have been looking for an answer to this problem with no luck. So I'm diving in to get some live answers:) The problem is as follows:

With DVD2SVCD, at the very beginning when trying to analyze the IFO file, the information pop-up window that says "Analyzing Video. Please wait..." stays up indefinitely. If I try to rip the disc with Internal Routines, it will return an IO error. If I use vStrip, the DVD-ROM (Liteon LTD-163) seems to be reading and there is activity with the harddrive, but there is no other activity. This happens with most DVD's.

Is this a problem with the DVD-ROM? Is it a known problem? Any help is appreciated.

Hi Liong,

you have to authenticate your DVD with a software player first (e.g. WinDVD or PowerDVD) if this happens because they are encrypted. Then close the software player and run DVD2SVCD using the internal routines for ripping. Also make sure you have a properly installed ASPI layer on your system.

Thank you Gerti! Yes, I have installed the recommended Adaptec ASPI. I'll give it a try right away.
