I can not for the life of me get this damn drive to work. sometimes it says no disc in dvdrom, other times the exact same dvd will work in it. it always freezes during rips. I have to swap my dvdrom with my friends pioneer drive everytime i want to rip a dvd. I have the drive set to dma if available. The drive works fine in 98se, but xp doesnt like it. I noticed though, when the pioneer drive is in, it shows that it is using dma mode2....but when the samsung drive is installed, it useses multi word dma2. could that have something to do with it? there are also no firmaware upgrades for the specific drive that i have. any suggestions would help! thanks
