This might sound dumb. But I have a couple of movies that I have ripped to my HD, transcoded them and now I don't know what to do with them. I want to put them on a DVD-R, but I'm not sure if I now have to convert them back to vop, ifo type format or just burn them. I read a number of the tutorials and they just kinda say burn it. The tutorial on this site uses DVDit which I don't have and can't seem to find. Is there any other program that converts the transcoded files to dvd format and then burns. Help Please
Mike

Well my guess is,that you have to use ifo-edit, to bring it back to the Vob format, this is what i do after i encoded a movie<just out of interest how long did it take to encode? & did u encode all the vobs or just 1 or 2?>
First up i drag the VTS_01_1.ifo file to where my encoded movie is kept, i also find that by dragging the Vobs that i encoded into the same file helps!......but im only encoding normally 1 or 2 vobs.
Open up ifo-edit........locate the Ifo file and open it up, now open up vob Extras and tick only the REMUX box nothing else on the left hand side.....chose your new directory for the new vob files and away you go...........after you have created the new Vob files, put all the files back together as one happy family, now i find by opening up the ifo-editor again and using the VTS_01_1.IFO file uncheck remux!.....then check these 3
correct vob unit
correct IFO
Create new..

once again chose a new directory......to put ur new files..........

Now find the directory you created your new files and add all the vob files to this.......now all you have to do is open up ifo-editor for the last time and GET VTS SECTORS...........film done.

Ps this is how i do it and it seems to work ok.....there is most prob....a quicker way but im only a newbie to this!....good luck

ALSO........im using DVD-DECRYPTER, VOBARATOR, IFO-EDIT, & REMPEG
this is what i use to make a backup copy of my DVD MOVIE-ONLY.
THE ABOVE INTRUCTIONS REALLY ONLY APPLY TO SOMEONE USING A DVD BURNER.

Well I don't know what the hell I am doing. I tried everything you mentioned, and it seemed to work. I got the movie scaled down in size and all the vob's were recreated, but when I use powerdvd to watch the movie from the hard drive the sound is all messed up and not in sync with the movie, and the last 3rd of the movie is all choppy..

I basically used the backup feature from smartripper, and then created a movie.cffl and listed vts_01_0.vob thru vts_01_5.vob and used rempeg2 to compress the movie. Then used your ideas to recreate the vobs. I just don't know what I'm doing..

Well i cant help you out if you are using *SmartRipper, as i have no exprience with this.........but i suggest you download DVD-DECRYPTER, which allows you to remove just the movie files to your Hard-Drive.....once you have done this you must use *Vobarator, to identify the movie ID`s, then use IFO-Editor to strip the extra`s like sounds and also the VOB id`s which arent the main part of the movie......then you have your finished movie..........if it is still bigger than 4.3gig you will have to encode the movie, like before i only tend to encode 1 or 2 vobs depending on how much over the 4.3 gig i am..........so this is the point at which u will then use my last post............

if you want any help with this process, let me have your e-mail and i will try and help you step by step.........hope this helps!
