I recently redid my system (format c: and then redo it all....) and found everything working well. Win2000 boots in reasonabel time and all other progs work perfectly.
Now i got a DVD from a friend and tried to rip that using smart ripper and DVD decrypter. Both progs didn't work (not that much of a surprise) without an ASPI layer.
Next step: I downloaded and ran forceaspi17 from doom9.
And here is the problem: All DVD related software works perfectly but, Win2000 takes bloody AGES to startup (approx 90secons more than before the ASPI installation  ) and the win explorer fails me from time to tim (i.e. comes up with a program failure)

Does anyone have a solution to that or do you know a source for a different ASPI download?

Thanx

hi

The newest version of Adaptec's ASPI layer (4.70) is free to use for everyone, so no more cracking is needed...

get it at:
