HI!
Did a ABR 128 with alt preset function in the latest Gui & BeSweet but when i play the *.mp3 in winamp the bitrate is always 128 here is my command line
"d:\DivX Tools\AC3 Sound\BeSweetGUI0.6b26\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "e:\ISO\3000_MILES_TO_GRACELAND\3000 AC3 T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY -79ms.ac3" -output "e:\sound.mp3" -logfile "D:\DivX Tools\AC3 Sound\BeSweetGUI0.6b26\BeSweet.log" ) -azid( -z1 -b1 -c light -L -3db ) -ota( -G max ) -lame( --alt-preset 128 )

Whats wrong?

Thanks

Let me get this straight. You told BeSweet to make a 128kbps audio file, it did exactly that and now you're complaining???

Btw, Winamp isn't known for very accurate display of bitrate, even on VBR files around 150kbps I always see it switching between 128 and 160kbps, it never displays anything in between.

I didnt told BeSweet to do a CBR 128 file!!I told BeSweet to do a ABR file with average 128 and when i have played my ABR 128 files done with Azid/Lame and play it in winamp it switch between different bitrates.
And i'm not complaining i want to know if something in my settings was wrong.

Hmm...I don't really see a problem here either. Acaila is right about WinAmp, it isn't very accurate in displaying the bitrates. I use EncSpot to check the quality, frames, average bitrate, etc. I think you'll find it much better;)

In WinAmp, you can also right click on the top window and select "File Info" and it will display some paramaters as well. EncSpot is still better though IMHO.

This is the correct behaviour if you unchecked "show average bitrate". It will show the bitrate for the frame that it is currently decoding, and each MP3 frame can only be certain size. If you want to see the average bitrate, go to your decoder options and check the box which says "show average bitrate"

Im afraid Ripe is right! I just tried to do a alt preset 128 and ended up with an almost CBR 128 file also using the same settings. I don't think it is a GUI problem, B/C the Besweet output says using abr preset, but using EncSpot the final output has 99% of its frames at 128. This is not anywhere close to the normal distribution pattern for the alt preset ABR, therefore something is wrong here.
