of all the movies i have, there all high quality dvd rips where most of the time you dont even see the computer pixels.etc..and roughly 700 mb. what would be the best way to encode it. some ppl say the 2 pass method

Hi, "some people" would be right in thinking that m8t - 2 pass encoding leads to far higher quality. imho, i think the best method for newbies is to use gordian knot - it's a very easy method ( after the first few times anyhows ) and gives very high quality results. Now you'll have to decide which codec is the one for you, lol :) ... check out doom9's mpeg4 codec comparison if u haven't already.

is there a guide for 2 pass encoding. iv used everything else and got good resulst like flaskmpeg dvd2avi etc, i want to see the difference

As for the guides, go to the home page (link at the bottom of this page), and click on the Guides on the left side of that page. Then take your pick.

Flask? *shudder*........
Using flask is kinda like when you're young and you think that sticking your finger in that light socket is a good idea....only afterwards to you realize the pain....
