I've recently bought a SB Audigy and connected it to my amplifier using a SPDIF cable. When I play DVD's or the AC3 samples my amp recognizes it as DD5.1 but with divx's it's a completely different story, I've been trying for 3 days now and I can't get it to work.
When I watch a DivX that's got AC3 audio it plays nicely but the audio is stereo, no matter what settings I adjust in BSPlayer or PowerDivX, it just stays stereo.

Anyone knows what can be wrong? I know the AC3 sound from other stuff works, but why not from DivX?

Aaah, count me in on this one. I've had the exact same problem for a while now. (AC3 plays with DVDs but only stereo for AVI/AC3 no matter what.)

Audigy:devil:

Echion, I noticed you didn't mention anything about reading the AC3 FAQ sticky. I think you'll find your answers in it if you read;)

Whoops ;) yeah I did read it, and I tried the stuff in the faq but it doesn't help, only with dvd's and the ac3 examples the blue light of my amp goes on

I suspect you might have the wrong AC3 filters installed then. What version is your InterVideo filters? I've had great luck using the AC3 filter from Tsunami. The filters from Doom9's download section work just as well.

Are you using PowerDVD to play your DVD's?

A friend of my bought the SB Audigy and had the same problem. After trying everything, it still didn't work.

Finally he found out (after reading the manual :) there's an option in the AudioHQ 'AC3 Decode', turned that off and your blue light will glow!
