Im using cce sp 2.6 to make svcds.
Now i wanted to know at waht highest bitrate can i achive for svcd.
I think its 2520 kbit/sec but not sure. Can I go beyond that. If i do will it become a xsvcd and what is its max bitrate. What players can play at real high bitrate for svcds or xsvcds. Thanks.

2520 kbps is the figure I've seen most often for the max video bitrate for SVCD (to remain in spec). There does seem to be a fair amount of disagreement on what exactly the max is.
As for max for XSVCD, that's kind of a countradition in terms. XSVCD means anything that's above (or otherwise outside) the spec. The max XSVCD bitrate is totally dependent on your player, and can really only be determined empirically. I myself have always been concerned with doing this however - the bitrate your player can handle today may not be be the same as the bitrate your player can handle a year from now, and the next player you buy may not support it at all. I prefer to stay in spec as much as possible.
As for purchasing a player that supports very high bitrate, some here may have some suggestions (I don't). I suggest you check out the DVD compatibility list at vcdhelper.com. I'd post a request in their forums as well.
