hello !
i used the old dvd2svcd 105.build3 that version worked perfect , but when i try the newer versions i always get this in the encoded movies "black screen with red message avisynt caught acess etc..."
i have test everything i possible can.change settings in dvd2svcd
change memory etc.i encoded a movie with the v.strip ...get the error i encoded a movie with the internal...get the error
when i get the avisynth error cce is encoding very fast , like 3-4
then i tested ripping it with smartripper (all files)
and encoded as usual in dvd2svcd and guess what it worked i did get
a perfect copy ..anyone out there know what it could be , i mean it works perfect with 105.build3 , and later versions its just impossible to get svcd's if i use v-strip or the internal routines.
i could send a logfile from a " avisynt error" encoding i anyone like to see it.
my system everything is ok..(tested it)
k7s5a
xp1600 (temp 36c and system 27c)
512 ddr
sony dvd (ddu220e)
i cant solve this any help would bee veru good .)

The newer DVD2SVCD is faster and stress your system a little bit more.
I would suggest that you up the voltage on your CPU one step or so, and see if it works OK then.
Worked for me on a Celeron 850@1133MHz.
(Whenever I turn it back down I got this error back)
Your CPU could be a "bad sample", and maybe needs a little more voltage to stand the pressure even if it's not overclocked !?
(I've got two "old" Duron600 looking the same, one is able to reach 1200MHz with good coling witout raising the voltage, and the other one cant even pass 750MHz !!!, so there are differences on chips !)

When you went to the newest version did you uninstall your version, download and install 1.07.1 and then download and install 1.07.4 on top of the 1.07.1? IF you only installed 1.07.4 over your 1.05 version then this is your problem. Programs have been updated and you need the 1.07.1 for the bundle and 1.07.4 for the upgrade patch.

of course i did a clean install :))
here is the log file from Final Destination ..
ends up with avisynth error, the first file is ~800 mb the other one is about 861kb ??
i cant be the voltage or what .. i mean the whole process works perfect it must be the ripping from v-strip or the internal routines
is it my sony dvd with newer version dvd2svd that dont works together ??

No way that you could have a CCE-encoding done between 2002-03-16 00:53:51 and 2002-03-16 02:44:42 (ref. logfile).
A 4-pass done under 2 hours, just NOT possible.
Your CPU isn't that fast !
I have had exactly this fault myself when I had applyed the CCE Checksum patch (when i had not it just stop when the error occurred !).
If you take a look at the encoding speed it will speed up dramatically when the error occur, because every picture from here are the same !!Avisynt caused an error at....., on black background !), and take less space/CPU power !!
Dont take my word for it...
Try to up the voltage a little bit an you will se.

my motherboard is k7s5a
no way to change anything , exept for fsb 100/133
if i hacked the xp1600 i can get it to work ..
or if i change back to 105.build 3 :))
its 1,728 today isnt that enough u think ..
u mean that the avisynt error get away with the patch ?

Don't understand what you mean.....the voltage ?
What is the default of your CPU ?
u mean that the avisynt error get away with the patch ?
No, it will not ( it's purpose is to make the CCE-encoding continue when small errors occur, instead of just stop.)

There was a thread several a month or two ago regarding this very issue.
See this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16243&highlight=avisynt+caught)

Edit the avs file with notepad and remove or rem (#) out any line that references subtitles, save it, right click on the avs file and choose to open it with media player. If you get an image instead of a text line the avs file works without the subtitle line.
Then edit the file again and verify that the line referencing subtittles is correctly pointing at a file using the full path. Once again save the file and play it in media player. If you get an error there is something wrong with either that line or the file it's pointing to.
Try that for now and report back your progress.

hey!
when i encode with dvd2svcd i set everything in d:/
i did change the dvd2svcd's default dirs so i did set
the defaults back to the subs
"AvisynthSubtitler("d:\tmp\","permsubs.txt")".
Instead of my "AvisynthSubtitler("d:\","permsubs.txt")" that dont worked.
so i will try to encode a movie tonigtht and come back to u .
cross my fingers i really would like to get it to work ..
thanks for the help :)

I got a similar error. I get the first disk correct. Second disk has a slight audio sync. Third has this error message ( Avisynth caught .... )
I re-ripped using DVDDecryptor and verified each vob. I have also turned on the safe mode. Lets see what the output looks like this time
