I need to convert an mp3 into a wav file so I can alter it and play around with it etc. But I don't know if BeSweet can or not, I couldn't find the conversions that it did but I was hoping that someone out there would know a good program to do the mp3 -> wav.

Thanks ppl.

Just use that magic tool Winamp =)

go to the OPTIONS/PREFERENCES/PLUGINS(OUTPUT) and click on the option "out to disk" (make sure you select an area of where to put it)

after doing so play the file normally and it should play back faster with no sound. THen voila! you have a nice wav :)

can you go from wav -> mp3 with winamp or is that where BeSweet or some other program will come in?

WinAmp seems to be one of the best tools for MP3->WAV

I'm not sure I'd use it for WAV->MP3 though. Why not use BeSweet, HeadAC3he or even LAME?

HeadAC3he doesn't support this - yet. ;)

use BeSweetGUI. select the mp3 as input file, and select Stereo Wave as output.

If you like high-quality (and now also 24b high-resolution) output, you may also use the MAD player. Please note that it is a command line tool. It can be found at http://mitiok.cjb.net (MAD 0.14.2b).
