When I try to select my mp3 files in Gordian Knot says: I/0 Error 32. The mp3 is fully working, I've tried to play it with winamp and it works perfectly. But Gknot won't accept it. I've tried several movies and always the same problem

Looks like i have to resurrect this thread :)
I'm having the same problem, GK 28.5 , and 1 out of 5 audio tracks i try to open with GK (for size calculation) gives that i/o 32 error.
The type of the audio doesn't seem to matter (mp3,ogg,ac3...), and neither does the encoder (besweet,lame,oggdrop,oggmachine...).
Any file that causes that error, causes it always. No amount of changing settings, re-installing, re-starting, or cursing & beating the keyboard helps.
So, even though this is a minor problem, and it's not too hard to manually input the audio size, this is annoying.

I will need a sample mp3 file which cannot be opened (never happened to me though). If you could upload it to the bugs section at SF, that would be great.
P.S. Are you sure that the file not locked by other application?
P.P.S. Is there something special about file name? I.e. if you rename it to something siple like a.mp3 - will it work ?

I'm fairly sure that none of the files that i've experienced this problem were NOT in use by any other application, but then again, when trying to open a file that IS in use, you get the same error...
So i'm thinking maybe the problematic files were locked, but by what - i have no idea.
As to uploading a sample clip - i don't have any atm. If and when i generate one, i'll test first to see that it's absolutely sure no other process is locking the file. If that isn't the case, i'll upload it.
As to if there was something special about the filenames - no.
Just .mp3/.ogg
Then again, you can open any file, and get the size, so i don't think that plays any part in this.

what i meant by special filenames is names containing non-english characters for instance... we had some problems with this in other parts of gk, but i guess this problem would appear sooner here, if that was true... just trying list all possibilities...

Ugh. My bad. I should buy me some spectacles or something.
I read it like "...you rename it to something simple like a .mp3", not "a.mp3" - hence the idiotic response concerning filenames.
And now the answer that was requested - no, the filename does not matter, nor were there ever any special characters.

ok, I'm waiting for the sample to be provided, so that I can try solving the problem...
