OKAY...

I have done two movies useing Flask and Smartripper and i forge thte program i used to cut it. BUT The problem is that I can run the movie ina window perfectly When i set it to full size the movie palys for a min or two then locksup the computer. I have the lastest Driect x and video drivers. I have tested this on a '98 computer and a XP. They both had the same problem. Any ideas so that this will not happen in the future. Thanks

look at doom9.org (http://www.doom9.org) in the download section for a programm called AviSplitCalc 3.4 !!!
is a very simple programm where you can split your movie`s !!!

check out another player for your movie`s for example
ZoomPlayer or PowerDivx NextGen or BSPlayer etc. !!!

well I may not be as enthusiastic as dagman with a bunch of "!!!'s" But I do belive my advice will be much better and a lot more sound:

Nandub is the program you want to split avi.'s
1. load the avi into ndub
2. Press Ctr+Shift+J then type in the file size
3. You can only cut a DivX file on a keyframe. So when you just to the keyframe, press the mark in button.
4. Then go to the endo of the file and press the mark out button
5. Press delete. You have just deleted the rest of the file you do nto want. (Its still there its just not what you want at this time.
6. Video ->Direct Stream Copy, Audio ->Direct Stream copy
7. Save as avi...(Save your new cut avi.
-----------------
To do the second half(I'm assuming you did halfs)
do steps 1-2
3. Press the mark out button
4. Go the the beggining of the file and press the mark in button
Repeat 5-7

Hopefully you can do that word-for-word, but it is always better when encoding to learn what you are doing, so you can make decisions if I left out an exact step, or whatever.

In response to your bad files...FlaskMPEG eats the biggest Wang in the world. Its constant bitrate therefore it stinks to high-heaven. I would recommend trying to totally reencode the movies again, and continue to play around with flask unil you get a working file. Then you can try using DivX 4, or DivX 5, 2-pass vbr. Or nandub SBC encoding. But play around with flask a little more, and definetly re-do your encodes, because it would be my guess, that they just don't work!
