I have a computer with a firewire card. I have some VHS tapes i want to get onto the computer. I have a DV camcorder (with analog line-in feature) and i want to use it with the firewire to get footage from my vcr (my DV camera allows me too hook up from a vcr and capture video). here is what i am trying to say:
1. hook up from vcr to dv camcorder via analog cables.
2. hook up dv camcorder to computer via firewire.
3. capture video from the vcr to computer
i am pretty much trying to use the dv camcorder as a bridge from the vcr to computer.
but my problem is that when i plug the firewire to the DV camcorder, I cant use the line-in feature. if i unplug it, then the video from the vcr can be seen on the camcorder.
the only thing i can do is record an hour from the vcr and then rewind and digitize it through firewire, but this will take much longer. any suggestions? thanks
