I'm trying to view the website for IfoEdit and VOBEdit at:
http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/

and when I do, I get this error:
"Use of Internet Explorer with DigExt is prohibited on this site"

I have no idea what DigExt is and why it's bad that I have it. I seriously hope I don't have to rearrange my internet setup to view one site! :-) Is the webpage forcing this or the server that I'm contacting? The error leaves me completely in the dark!

I know I can use the Doom9 website to get this file, but I'd assume that the file would always be updated the fastest on its on home website.

Thanks
Steve

Sorry if this inconviences anyone, but DigExt is the "offline browser" capability that was present in IE 5.0
It is being misused by many people to crawl the entire site on a daily basis, moreover this extension is very aggressive and uses as many connections as the server will allow (effectively blocking other users until it has finished). I (the site admin) therefore decided to block these browsers. I am not the only site admin to do so, either.
Microsoft has admitted they made a mistake in releasing browsers with this extension, and current browsers use a less aggressive read-ahead method.
If you upgrade to IE 5.5 or 6.0 you will not have any problems.

WOW! I can't believe that!
Microsoft actually admitted they made a mistake? Incredible! :)

I haven't touched any upgrades to IE5 except for the 128bit encryption upgrade that I need. I guess I should upgrade to 6.0, but I'm not looking forward to the download but I supposed I could get download it tomorrow while I'm out.

About the error message on your site, you should probably add the description that you posted here because a lot of people who get that message are going to be completely baffled.

Thanks
Steve

That's a good idea - I've done just that.
