Actually the fun facts are not so fun, maybe interesting:
I'm just wondering why a nice clean movie like this doesn't look quite right at 576x240 with Soft Bicubic and Little Noise especially in that scene with the flaming house and all the heroes tied up on the floor. That scene looks exactly like an old Flask encoded movie :(
And the compresability with those setting and 1401MB Total Movie Size (audio=115MB) which gives a bitrate of 1366 it's only 74%.
I know the movie has lot's of action, rain, fire, camera shaking, earth moving, universe exploding scenes but still..... :D

And the IVTC part of the thread:
First I did it with Force Film. It was ok, but sometimes on scene change there was a little interlaced frames.

So I did it again with the TMPG-vfapi method. And the resulted movie is ok no more intelace but it has this weird artifacts (see attachment). I'm referring at those white spots which appears and dissapears and this happends in various places of the movie.
What are this dots? I never seen this before.

PS: Finally I did the IVTC stuff with Decomb (first time use)
and used this settings:
Telecide(guide32=true)
Decimate(cycle=5)
And I'm very happy with the result, it's a great tool.

Obviously, I am happy that you are happy. :)

A little tidbit for your store of knowledge...

If Force Film mostly works except for a few combed frames at scene changes, you can consider doing that but postprocessing with FieldDeinterlace(full=false) (from the Decomb package). You may have to tweak the threshold parameter. You'll get a faster encode this way compared to a full Telecide()/Decimate().

Thanx for the tip. Maybe I'll try another encode whith that just for curiosity.

Nobody knows what the white dots are?
