Hi all. Ok its been two weeks and i have tried a lot but I am not getting anywhere. A lot of vague suggestions have been made but none have worked. Can the DVD Gods answer my plea.

I have a couple of movies. Oure NTSC 29.97 (No FILM). And fully INTERLACED (as reported by DVD2AVI)

Can someone tell me the best settings for this in DVD2SVCD? I understand that there are these options.

A - If i wanna watch it on a standalone, I should not de-interlace it. Right? Ok but what about the settings in DVD2SVCD - like 'Progressive frames' and 'Zigzag scanning order' and 'Upper field first'?
Also, is IVTC needed? 'Automatic' does NOT turn on Force Film.

B - what if i wanna view on my PC? I have to de-interlace then. Right? I tried Telecide, but got bad results. Again what are the best settings in this case? Telecide in DVD2SVCD says (PAL) in front. Does that mean this should not be used in NTSC Rips? If so, what else should be?

C - If I wanna make an SVCD viewable on both TV and PC. What are the best settings now?

Other Things
-------------
What about decomb. Can I use that somehow and when? If so, how? By editing the avs script. Can someone specify how is that done and at what stage in DVD2SVCD?

Please. i understand that I may be going around in circles and confusing the heck outts you guys. But then - the DVD Gods are supposed to know everything,Right ;)

Thanx a ton guys.

Thx. I read the thread. But I have encountered movied which are part interlaced. Usually Force Film or IVTC work on them and Telecide does a good job. But I have never delat with a pure Interlaced NTSC. Also, I am a newbie to SVCD. Divx is no prob. Can some one help me out like a two year old?? :)

Thx

If your movie is pure interlaced video, i.e., not made from progressive frames, i.e., every field is a separate temporal instant, then you simply want to deinterlace. Load the Decomb plugin and use this script:

FieldDeinterace(full=true)

The rest of what you wrote is incoherent, to me at least. :)
