Yopla,
something went wrong with smartripper and d2v file. I opened my d2v project after smartripper created it. 5 minutes of the movie are in the beginning just before the intro credits... why that? thanks....

glop,
this feature in smartripper is buggy and doesn't always create a fully "standard" d2v file, use dvd2avi for this task instead

or use vStrip (which in all the evil cases i tested (and they were many...) worked exactly like DVD2AVI... ;))

ok many thanks I used vstrip and i wouls say to you that it's a great ripper! But it doesn't create a direct d2v project, does it?
(i love question tags since i was in school :)!!!)

Maven:
How do you set up vStrip to create a d2v project file for TMPG to encode?

the bit vobsub is looking for (information on the color of subtitles) is still fine & valid...
