Mpeg2 to Avi??

I'm new to this so bear with me.
Whats the "easy" way to go to make a mpeg2-file to Avi (not a dvd ifo-file).

i think you can use VirtualDub or NanDub for this job !!!

dvd2avi can support mpeg2. Search on "mpeg2" and "dvd2avi" for more info.
