Hello

I'm trying to go from 720x576 to 352x576 with avisynth but no matter what I try I get messed up encodings. Here is an example:

LoadPlugin("mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("dvd2avi.d2v")
crop(8,0,704,576)
BicubicResize(352,576)
ResampleAudio(44100)

Can anyone help me out with creating a working script which will work with CCE2.5. tnx

Please define "messed up".

Reading your script I would assume your entire image is flattened, because you reduced the height with resizing instead of cropping. Unless that is what you want of course...

When I view the image through CCE I can see it being correctly halfed in horizontal res.

But the final encoded video is still 720x576 and the image is messed up. Contains diagonal lines and nothing reassemples the original picture. The crop function does this alone too. Then I tried removing crop and doing all kinds of resize. They didn't work either and gave various messed up results, none of them looking anything like they should.

avisynth has a mehtod VerticalReduceBy2 check it out, i think it does what you want?.

oh and DONT check "DVD compilent" that forces the movie output to 720 pixels. Caught me out too

Hell, that is probably the problem then. Thanks!
