Isn't there a Newbies forum for stuff like this? :)

Now, seriously, what have you tried and in what way is it not working?

BTW is that picture resized?

i use these ways to encode : smartripper->dvd2avi->tmpg->vfapi->virtualdub

in virtual dub i use the filter : deinterlace.

But i see when i ripped the vob files with smartripper there are already scanlines on it , i dont know if this is normal itherwise that could be the problem.

but even after using the filter i get the result as you can see of the picture.

the picture isnt resized but if you have xp it will rezize it automaticly

We call those artifacts combing or interlacing, not scanlines. It is quite normal for them to be there in the VOB. That is why you want to deinterlace (or do inverse telecine) -- to remove those artifacts!

Tell us the exact steps you went through in VirtualDub with the exact filter settings. Include everything from loading the file through to saving the output AVI. That output certainly doesn't look like it has had the internal deinterlace option applied, because if it was, it would either be half height or it would have obvious stairstepping or blending. It looks like you just ran the preview thinking that would fix the input AVI, but you have to actually choose a compression and do Save AVI to a different file. Just guessing here. Give us the full information and I'm sure this can be easily solved.

There is a step-by-step "How-To" at the web site given below. Look for the "How-To" choice in the left-hand menu bar.

1. i use smartripper and i chose:Backup
2.i Use dvd2avi and i save the project
3.i open the project in tmpg(enc)the settings are:

Streamtype:MPEG1-Video
size:720x576
framerate:25fps
rate control mode: Constant bitrate (CBR)
bit rate:135 kbit/sec
VBV buffer size: 100 kb
Motion search precison" Highest Quality (verry slow)

then i save again that project
4.I open that project with vfapi and save it as:jajaja_tpr-vfapi.avi
5.i open virtual dub : and use the filter:resize-> from 720x76 to : 512x384, after that i cropping it.
6.I compress it with divx 4.0
7.I save it
8.When finished i get that interlacing lines but it is not on the whole frame only on the person as you can see the picture above
im not prefer deinterlace because it takes a lot of quality away and the lines are still there .
i hope you can help me

I give up. I can't help you because you won't cooperate.

You start by saying deinterlacing isn't working. I respond hoping to find out why it works for all of humanity except you. I ask you to tell me what steps you are going through to do your deinterlacing. You respond with everything *except that* and simply repeat that it isn't working! Then you ask for help again.

Good luck.
