As I suppose there are still the best results using original microshit's codec (SBCed), has anyone tried to optimize that !legal software for new CPU's? Divx4 sucks....

Congratulations! Your very first post violates the forum rules about profanity.

Divx3 is not, can not, and will not be developed any further. Divx3 was only ever a patch against MSMPEG4v2&3 to disable the AVI lockouts. Gej and the others did not have the actual source code to do things like compiling or optimising. They might be able to dissasemble it and "try" to do it that way. But you would have to be some god like assembly language programmer. The logistics and work that would have to be put into doing that tend to negate any benifit especially since Divx4 and especially 5 "can" do just as good or better without any of the drwabacks or problems of Divx3 and they are already here. Sure I could spend 20 bucks getting a new crystal to overclock my 10Mb HUB to 100Mb. Or I could go buy a 100Mb HUB for 25 bucks. There is just a point of diminishing returns and Divx3 is just about to far gone.
