Can You tell me, in which cases should I to use deinterlacing ?
I'm converting only PAL DVD to PAL SVCD and then I'm playback this SVCD only on TV in my standallone DVD player => i think, interlacing is true or no ?

To be honest, I think it's 'trial and error' as no one answer anyone has given yields a clear cut solution.

Try encoding a small chapter to completion with 'No deinterlacing' and play it in your player (use a CD-RW if possible so you can re-use it) if it doesn't look right, try again but uncheck 'Upper fields first' in the 'Encoder' tab for CCE.

Alternatively, try with the deinterlace filter 'VerticalReduceBy2 (PAL)' as I personally had more success with that, some prefer 'Telecide (PAL)' but it all depends on your own observation of the finished video and whether you perceive it to be better.

I still have problems with some PAL DVD's though E.G. Ghost in the Shell. I've used all deinterlace filters and even no deinterlacing, but the video always 'bounces' approximately every second or so on medium to fast screen pans? Not enough to make it unwatchable mind, but it's still there and I can't find a way to remove it.
