View Full Version : Using DVD2SVCD is cutting last minutes of episode!

I am backuppping the soprano's to svcd with dvd2svcd. I am ripping one episode at a time however when I burn the image the final product is missing the last few minutes of the episode. What am I doing wrong. Under the bitrate tab I have 0 - 50 min for 790 mb cd. I don't care if it takes two cd's as long as I get the whole episode. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong!

Gerti the moderator replied to me to "So you could try to do a "Crash Recovery" from the "Muxing and Cutting" step and set the CD size to 795MB in "Bitrate" tab then hit "Continue" button and the image should be ok afterwards."

Exactly when is the Muxing and Cutting step? I am lost!! Will keep trying!

Hi haha,

where is the problem? - You just have to start DVD2SVCD again, go to "Misc." tab and hit the "Crash Recovery" button. Load the *.d2s file and select the "Muxing and Cutting" step from the pulldown below the button. Then set the CD size in "Bitrate" tab to 795MB (or even 800MB) and go back to "Misc." tab. Then hit the "Continue!" button and DVD2SVCD continues and muxes the files again with the new size.

Hi machura,

I think you have to ask dvd2svcd for this - but this is only a minor issue when doing a 1 CD conversion and it is quite easy to work around by yourself.

So just wait for some of the next releases and see if dvd2svcd can spend some of his rare time on this. I think he is aware of this little issue as it was already mentioned in the past so just be a little patient and use the manually way since.

I tried looking for muxing and cutting after selecting misc tab and crash recovery but my only options are audio extraction, audio processing, picture conversion, and video encoding! I am using version 1.07 the newest one with the update. Am I doing something wrong?

If you are sure your video encoding was finished, you can increase the 'project position' in the 'dvd2svcd project file.d2s'.
After this you can select muxing and cutting, if the Video was really finished.
Better make a backup or write protect your .mpv, because I some time ago deleted it while plying around with the project position.
