I was trying to use smart ripper today, for the first time in a few days. It was going extremely slow (1.8x) and using up a whole lot more cpu cycles than it should have. When I double checked I noticed that my aspi drivers had disappeared and dma mode had been disbled on my dvd rom drive. I've made 2 changes to the system before this problem started. I uninstalled Zone Alarm Pro (after I was sure that I had complete disabled Adware in DivX5) and I installed a the Nero burning rom update (because I was having probems burning coasters, that problem may have been caused by the lack of drivers). Does anyone know what could have caused my problem or has anyone had there chipset and aspi drivers disappear on them. My OS is WinXP Pro, the rest of the info is below.
I was debating on whether or not to post this to pc hardware or ripping. But because the problem is causing slow ripping I'm posting here.
