I need to extend pulldown.exe to do nonstandard pulldowns, particularly 18 frames per second. I was planning to do the whole program myself, but if there's source available, I'd be a fool to not use it.

Looks like Brent Beyeler's web page is gone with the rest of @home.

Anybody know his whereabouts?

Feel free to IM me.

Regards,
Mark Rages

you can find the bbmpeg source code on my page.. that should help you get started as bbmpeg can do pulldown.

though I very much doubt that any player would accept a stream that has something else than 2:3, 3:2 or 2:2 pulldown.. and 18fps is way not enough to get fluid motion.. I can even see jerkyness at 25fps during fast pans.

Thanks!

Inwards, I'll send you some private email.

For the curious:
I work for a place (http://homemoviedepot.com) that transfers home movies to DVD. 8mm silent movies are all 18 fps.

I am building a projector to run at 30 fps, and I want software
to do the pulldown. You can only obtain 50% pulldown using the flags, so I'm going to need to insert some null P- or B-frames.

Mark
