i ripped some code 2 dvds form japan... (very interesting horror movies!) and i wanted to rip them with smartripper.... it worked, but as soon as i wanted to extract the sound with vob2audio or with dvd2avi or i just wanted to watch it with powerdvd, but no chance no sound would appear... could anyone tell me what the problem is... other dvds work just fine (most of them)...
i even posess all the files from the dvd, because i ripped all of them with smartripper...
i would be please to hear from you...

Read through the .txt file created by SmartRipper's parsing of the .ifo file. It should point you to any and all sound tracks. For detailed descriptions of sound file types, see Doom9's DVD Basics link at www.doom9.org.

this is what it says in the txt file... it's not really different to other dvdrips of mine, but still i don't have a chance to extract the audio stream...

the only difference is the circle in front of the audio stream and not an 'X'.
thankx for your help

I don't have any smartripper text files on my system at the moment, to compare and contrast with yours. I read this as having a 2 channel ac3 Japanese audio in track 1, which, because I use GKnot, I'd extract with DVD2AVI in "Demux" mode.
If that failed, I'd go back and re-rip with vStrip.
I'm sure, though, that there's a SmartRipper / DVD2AVI expert out there who can give you better advice than that.

i used dvd2avi in demux mode and it didn't work...
i don't have the dvd anymore, because i borrowed it yesterday... i realized the problem today and wanted to rerip it from the harddisk, but this didn't change a thing... do you think, that the problem occured while ripping it with smartripper?
thankx again sampa

I'd agree with your problem being the original rip.

Smartripper has a "stream processing" mode, if this is not enabled you will rip all the soundtracks (0x80 and beyond) along with the mpeg2 stream into the VOB's on your harddisk.
So don't worry, the sound track is still there if you didn't enable the above mode.
