I have been reading alot about how but still can't work it out.I resently got myself discjuggler full version cause i was told it will overburn.I wanted to overburn cause DVD2SVCD makes bbmpeg files bigger than 700meg.
2 Questions:- 1.Is there a way to make DVD2SVCD make smaller bbmpeg files so as they will fit on a disc without overburning?
2.Can you give me advice on how to overburn with discjuggler? Cause Nero, cloneCD,Adaptec, cdrWin just are not working for me.

Really? I can't believe...
Have a look at here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=8127). The are some info about cd size for SVCD files. As you can see, if the file is up to 807 MB there is no reason for overburning.

Well you may not believe i couldn't do it and i thought by putting a little say in here somebody may give me some support as to what do do but i got squat.
I read the newbie support before i decided to register here and found nothing that could help me.No matter what i tried i could not overburn a CD,even though it may be possible to do,why even make a program that makes files that are too big to put on a disc? Unless you have a special burning program. No matter what i tried i couldnot get disc juggler to overburn and cdrwin would get to 99% and then give me an error. After blowing 5 cd's i bought some cd-rw which i should have done in the first place.Remember i am a newbie.
Another question why is it there are bbmpeg files and the bin/cue files and is it the bin/cue files that make the svcd. The way i see it is there should be a small file in mpeg format, small enough so you can use nero to make a svcd or a vcd now that would make things really easy.
I have since downloaded the trial version of Dup-dvd and find it a very good program the fact that it only burns 1/4 of the dvd in trial version gives you an idea of how it will turn out and i was impressed. So impressed and yet so disapointed in dvd2svcd that i opted to buy Dup-dvd for $80 aust.
I played with dvd2svcd for over 2 weeks tring to burn myself a dvd copy with no help and then when i send a link to here some guy says and i quote (I DON'T BELIEVE)
thank you too all and to all a good night.

You burner has to support overburning, otherwise your software can't do it. I use Nero to overburn on a Plextor 121024. You have to activate overburning in the preferences, expert tab.
But I don't think you will have to overburn, the calculations of DVD2SVCD are very accurate, they work perfect for me. Remember, you can fit 800 MB mpeg on a 700 MB CD. You just press cancel when Nero asks you which project you want to use. In the file-menu you choose burn image? (I only know the german version). That's it.

Hi Ziticuss,
seems you missed some lines in the "DVD2SVCD FAQ":
You can fit 807MB mpeg2 on a 80min CD
CD-DA Audio, VCD, SVCD is not the same as data cdrom (error correction) Info below is stolen from here (http://www.ping.be/satcp/realsize01.htm)
(44,100 Hz) x 16 bit x 2 channels = 1,411,200 bits/sec, 1,441,200 / 8 = 176,400 bytes/sec
75 frames (also called blocks) in a second, 176,400 / 75 = 2,352 bytes
1 block = 2,352 bytes, 1 second = 75 blocks (frames), 1 minute = 60 seconds
74min CD (60secs x 74min = 4,440secs x 75 blocks = 333,000bytes)
80min CD (60secs x 80min = 4,800secs x 75 blocks = 360,000bytes)
74 minutes (CD-DA) = 333,000 x 2,352 = 783,216,000 bytes = 746.9 MB
80 minutes (CD-DA) = 360,000 x 2,352 = 846,720,000 bytes = 807.5 MB
So you can see - in SVCD format there is no problem with the files DVD2SVCD created - I think it's the way you try to burn them.
You have some "bbMPEG_Muxed_File0x.mpg" files of about 795MB right? - Yes, you can use these to make a SVCD with Nero by starting a SVCD project and NOT a usual Data CD project and then drag&drop them to your SVCD project in Nero! And believe me they will fit on a 700MB CD-R. But you will not have any chapters this way.
So just use the Daemon-Tools to mount the *.cue files and do a disk-to-disk copy with Nero - it's that easy. Have a look in here:

And if you think the quality of Dup-DVD is good then watch DVD2SVCD's quality. ;)

Thanks Gerti
Looks like i have jumped the gun on buying Dup but never mind,i have since made a vcd with Dup and am about to do a svcd with it only trouble with Dup and svcd is for a 2.5hr movie it wants to use 5cd's :( .Soon as i get that done i'll use dvd2svcd again and now that i have deamon installed everything seems like it will be alot easier.
Even though i think i can nut most things out sometimes it's good to get support and thankyou for your response.

Now you bought a BS expensive program which doesnīt have even 10% of DVD2SVCD features and its free high quality support team. Yes. FREE. We don't owe anything for anybody.
