Is it possible to extract the audio from a DivX which has ogg audio? I've been told it is not, but I thought I would double check. The reason is to make a VCD, so ideally I want the audio in wav format. My apologies if this has been asked before, but I've looked through past threads an I can't find any reference to it.

Have you tried simply opening your avi in vdub, setting audio to full processing (save as uncompressed), and saving the wav?

Although I can play the DivX using Zoom, it will not load into Virtualdub or Nandub, and the filetype is not recognised. :(

Your AVI is maybe no AVI but a real Ogg file that was renamed to AVI to allow playing it in WMP 6.4 and others. Did you have to install Tobias' DirectShowFilters to be able to play it ?

Yes, I did install the filters. However, the only player that would play it was Zoom. But I managed to extract the audio eventually using TMPGEnc.
