I want test different codecs - which movie scenes are important for that?

I wanna test some codecs (divx5, xvid, etc.) about their quality and so on.

To get the DVDs is no problem, but I dont know excatly which scenes I should test.

OK, for the sharpness I guess near front pictures, but which scenes are also important for a good codect comparision?
