Problems installing VS6 SP5

Maybe this is a little off topic (/forum) but I encountered this problem while trying to compile XviD. So after installing Visual Studio 6 (full) I downloaded vs6sp5.exe (~130MB) and tryed to install it too but I got a message "A required resource cannot be located." that has some very strange characters filling the title bar (from the top of the window). Anybody had that problem too?

This maybe considered a silly response but its worth a try. Did you reboot once before installing the SP5? Did you run VC6 once before maybe installing SP5? Don't know if this will help but it maybe worth a try. Also was the VisC cd in the drive when trying to install the SP5?
