various ???

Hi 2 all:
I have ripped a DVD using GordianKnot, and followind the doom9
guide for Xvid, I set all parameters, including the end credits part
as show here:

Now, when I compress the video (using FastRecompress)
I use this

Xvid - 2pass.1st pass
Credits encoding options...
Process credits at end of movie
Credits begin at = 157594
Credits end at = 163382
Encode credits at % rate = 30
1st pass stats = /prueba.stats
Discard encoded bitstream on 1st pass
Motion Search precision = 6 UltraHigh
Quantization type = H.263
Min KF interval = 10
Max kf interval = 300
Min quantizer = 1
Max quantizer = 31
FourCC used = XVID

All went ok, but my first test using this

Xvid - 2pass.2nd pass INT
Internal 2-pass options...
desired file size = 615831
KF boost % = 20
Bitrate payback delay = 240
High BR sc % = 25
Low BR sc % = 25
Luminance Masking

gave me a 195 Mb avi, weird!!! so I test the other option,
2nd pass EXT using gordian knot

in GordianKnot
Nandub Files -> Nandub Stats File -> Open
Stats File Editor -> F-size Correction -> Calculate -> Save -> /final.stats
Xvid - 2pass.2nd pass EXT
*** same setting as 1st pass ***
1st pass stats = /prueba.stats
2nd pass stats = /final.stats

The resulting avi was indeed what I was expecting, but
quality... um... not what I was expecting..
Well, I checked the parameters to aks here, and find this quite extrange,
when I go for the "Process credits at end of movie" it turns to be set
as: Credits begin at = 0
Credits end at = 157594
W H A T ! ! ! whats happening??? I put the real values
taken from GKnot in the 1st pass, in the 2nd pass I assumed the
setting will prevail, doesn't it?

Questions are...

Q1. Maybe my first encondig get the %30 for credits applied in ALL
the movie instead ?? that could explain the smaller filesize for the
2nd pass INT ???

Q2. When using 2nd pass EXT... where do I set the en credits ??
in the stats generated by GordianKnot or in the Xvid Codec ???

Q3. When I save the .avs from GKnot.. which optioons I have to use
for encoding the credits... No trim or [both, encode sep[/b] ???

Q4. In essence who makes the %decrease in credits, the .avs saved
or the stats generated by GKnot or ... the Xvid Codec in the credit
options ????

Wow weird.. seems like a new bug (?). This will be fixed tonight.

If you set credits in GKnot, you just have to enter the range into XviD - i.e. 12000 to 13000 in GKnot means you'd enter "Start" and "End" into XviD with the same values, and the rate at whatever. The rate doesn't actually matter, since it's ignored in External mode and doesn't get used (only the stats file matters).
