Hello,

I have a question. The new relase of Xvid replaces the RCA, RCR & RC/up/down options by buffersfile. How does it influence to code the video? How does it work?

Thanks,

Isibaar implemented a new rate control mechanism.
You simply have a buffer in which the bitrate must be compensated to be the average bitrate desired.

Testing has been started.

Anyway, i was quite disappointed, without the new builds since 5 days :p :p

Keep on good works guys.

ok, simply.

but, how does it move this value to the codification?
How does it work?

Have you explained this new option in your manual?

HI!

Downloaded Koepi's build XviD-12032002-1 and have some question about the options there(some new for me)

1).Q.Matrices tab when should i mess with that one i found this in the "XviD Help"
Quantization matrix
The Quantization Matrix... button is for user defined quantization matrices. The quantization matrix determines the divider used by quantization for each DCT coefficient. The DCT coefficients range from low-frequency values at the top left, to high-frequency at the bottom right. By entering lower numbers in the matrix, those coefficients will be quantized "less", and thus be closer to the original source. Higher numbers achieve the opposite - quantizing more, lowering quality, but lowering file size. So as you can see, the MPEG matrix is "biased" towards low-frequency coefficients.
The H.263 matrix has the same matrix value for all frequencies, low and high, which results in a more blurry image, because high and low frequency coefficients are quantized with the same weight.

and i'am little confused, exactly when should i change something here or i dont need to care about it?

2).Payback bias and proportionally?

3).And last Q.Type MPEG-Custom ?

I'm happy if someone can explain this setting with "normal" words:)

Thanks

Hehehe.

I have the same questions that Ripe73.
- Questions, over the excellent guide of Koepi ;):

1.- Do you recommend "Payback with bias" or "Payback proportionaly"...? Why (in my opinion I prefer "with bias")...?
2.- In the option "Debug", the option "Edit Custoum Quantization
Matrix...". How can I do (or us)... with this option (Intra matrix / Inter Matrix)...? This option, modify a half frame...?

P.S.: Sorry for my english.

Bets regards.

used video : 35513 frame

1. Koepi 03.07 - 3
file size : 285487104

2. Koepi 03.12
file size : 285204480

with the same settings :
KF boost : 50%
High bitrate : 25%
Low Bitrate : 15%
Ultra High
Quant : MPEG
min : 2
max : 12

(Payback with bias, with the 03.12 version)

My opinion :
less articrafts, better colour handling with red things
