Hi all,

I am trying to encode a PAL 4/3 Interlaced movie with DivX5 codec but getting some kind of interlacing artifacts.

I have reduced the size in 320x240 (inside the DivX5 codec) and selected source interlacing : all frames are interlaced.

when I use 1pass encoding it's fine but with 2pass encoding I get those interlacing artifacts.

The same methode works fine if I resize to 640x480 ...

Any Idees what is wrong ?

Greetz.

there is a bug in the codec - "all frames are interlaced" does not always work

Can I ask from where do you get this information ?
Is there a patch or a other solution ?

Wouldnt it be smarter to use GordianKnot/DVD2AVI to make .AVS file that contains cropping, resizing and interlacing information.

If you use a resolution of 384x288 or below simply don't worry about deinterlacing. It will not be interlaced then. 288 is half of 576, so every second line is gone. It's that simple!
