I am using SmartRipper, but having a few discs which have locked files. These discs require them to be played in a DVD player prior to being able to be ripped.
Now, the problem I have is this; I have a Pioneer DVDR104, and as yet it doesn't have any multi-region capabilities. I have a couple of region changes left in the unit, but ideally I don't want to use them unless I have to.
Is there a DVD ripper out there that will rip all the files off the disc, decode them and allow me to burn a copy without the need to be region specific when doing so? Or is there a ripper that doesn't have problems with these "locked" files?
In theory I guess it is possible as I managed to rip a R3 edition of The Others whilst the drive was in a R1 state and it works fine. Of course for that rip, SmartRipper didn't request the files be unlocked before it ripped it.
