I am trying to rip the first disc of the sopranos boxset. I was able to properly rip and encode episode 1. However if I try to rip episode 2 I run into problems. If I use the interal routines the whole episode is completely screwed up. If I use vstrip I run into even more weird errors....vstrip never finds the vob files to rip. So I went and tried Smartripper, according to that just the first vob is being unlocked and the others remain lock no matter what I do. Finally for the final I thought I decided to use DVDDecrypter. It extracted all the vob files properly without error, however using dvd2svcd anytime you select one episode it ends up doing all four into one big episode. So any thoughts as to where my problem may be? Thanx guys/gals...

Yes, I'll bet when Smartripper comes up the screen on the left says something like "Using Win/IO"? If so, aspi is not properly installed. If so, see the Q&A.

Well something is sure screwed up. I assume you did play a portion with windvd or powerdvd first to insure authentication?
Alos, when you run ChkAspi.exe does it show all is installed properly? What OS are you using? BTW, I have done this set so I think it is something to do with your machine or your disk.

Well I run the aspichk.exe it says everything is installed correctly. I have tried powerdvd before ripping same problems exist. I am running windows xp, finally to really throw things off, I just got done ripping the entire second season without any problems...I am lost here

Maybe just a bad or glitched disk? Try cleaning it with a light dilution of dishsoap and water. Sometimes that does it.
