Has anybody thought of making a plugin for Internet Explorer or Netscape to play video files in HTML pages ? A bit like what is possible to do with RealVideo, ASF (and I think with Quicktime too). Or is it already possible thanks to the directshow filter (played as if it was an ASF file ?).

u can play it through the internet, but not stream it, since the avi format is inapropriate for that task. a streamming format is needed.
as for now, it behaves just as any other avi file does. i.e. u can download it or open it directly with mediaplayer, but it's only playable after the whole file has been downloaded.
