View Full Version : Fixing MPEG header - frame count only 1

I ripped a MPEG2 stream and AC3 stream from a DVD using Smartripper 2.40. The MPEG2 stream plays fine in WinDVD and PowerDVD.

But when I import it into authoring programs or MPEG editors it only sees it as 1 frame even thought it is 15 minutes long. SpruceUp at least shows the minutes correct, but when trying to move the chapter indicator it only moves one frame to the end.

It looks like the author of this DVD put a menu right before video, because thats all that shows when I import it.

I tried everything to fix this, now just wondering if there is a program out there that will correct an MPEG header or bad stream.

Well tried everything to fix this MPEG Splitter, Vitec, TMPGEnc and nothing worked.

Only solution I found was to reencode the m2v file using DVD2AVI via VFAPI -> CCE. Now I have a working stream.

Hope this helps someone else in this situation.
