View Full Version : Problem ripping Ghost in the Shell

For some reason i can not get this to rip past 43%. Ive tried it with internal ripping methods and smart ripper. After that i tried dvd decrypter. i got the following error: ASPI command error. ASPI SRB stats: 0x04: SRB completed with error. W 01:19:46 Failed to read Sector 731177 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:46 Failed to read Sector 731178 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:47 Failed to read Sector 731179 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:47 Failed to read Sector 731180 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:48 Failed to read Sector 731181 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:48 Failed to read Sector 731182 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:49 Failed to read Sector 731183 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:50 Failed to read Sector 731216 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
W 01:19:50 Failed to read Sector 731217 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error



The disc isnt scratch or anything like that. Can anyone offer suggestions? thanks

I have the PAL Region 2 version of GITS and had no problem ripping with internal routines.

Also note that this copy has BAD audio sync on both audio tracks, they're approx 0.5 seconds behind the video. I had to set bbmpeg's Video delay to 500 and Audio delay to 0 to correct it, very shoddy.

You could have a disk that's on the verge of being unreadable. Stand-alone players seem to be more robust with questionable disks that DVD ROM drives.

Were I you, I'd borrow another copy from a friend or rent one to see if it's a problem with the disk. You can also try playing it in a software player like WinDVD to get a better feel for if the disk is questionable.

You already have an R2 response that the disk can be ripped. I've never tried to rip my R1 copy, but I can try tonight if you like (and if I remember).
